ABOUT US
OUR STORY
UltimaNota – A 7-piece Latin band that delivers a blend of tropical rhythms with a modern twist. Founded in 2009 in Charlotte, the group’s members hail from Venezuela, Mexico, El Salvador and Dominican Republic. UltimaNota fuses new with old, English with Spanish, and traditional Latin rhythms with pop, funk, and blues.
Their latest single “Esperanza” released in 2020 pays tribute to the Afro-Latinx community and Black Lives Matter movement; the song featured guest musicians Christian Anzola (aka Mista Reggaeman) from Bakalao Stars and Helder Serralde from Orquesta Mayor, “Esperanza” aims to provide a glimpse into the life of a Black Latina in America and the hope she must cling to every day in order to survive.
